Tourists and locals alike enjoy visiting the open airy glass bead studio and gallery of Old Hat Glassworks.

Owners , Walt and Patricia Francis are entering their 5th year of business at Old Hat Glassworks and have become the largest bead store in Central Oregon. They carry a large variety of Czech designer beads and supplies.

Walt is known worldwide for his hand blown beads and specializes in dichroic glass beads for designers.

Dichroic Glass has some of the same properties as the opal, only dichroic glass is much more brilliant and colorful.

Walt is also known for his exotic mushroom beads.

Patricia is the designer at Old Hat Glassworks, creating one of a kind pieces featuring Dichroic Glass.

This shop is not to be missed. The artists are fabulous. Both contribute to each other's work, providing a unique vision of artistic temperament and precision artistry to each other.
